With a little under a month to go, we hope you all have one of the biggest events in the Greyhound Walks calendar in your diaries! We still have a few classes available for sponsorship, so if you would like to dedicate a class to a special hound(s) in your life, please check our Facebook […]
When you consider the extremes of weather this year, it is remarkable that we have managed any walks at all! But we have, and the two Christmas Walks at Royston and Rickmansworth were great fun. At Royston we had an opportunity to say farewell to Graham (with Hector and Bonnie), one of our most loyal […]
Well, after the extraordinarily hot summer, finally our walks return to normal. Never have we had to cancel so many walks due to good weather! And to be fair, we don’t like cancelling them for bad weather either! But, at all times the safety of the hounds (and humans) is paramount. Far better to cancel […]
This weather is starting to get a bit tedious – especially for those who would like to enjoy their regular greyhound walks! The weather at Lee Valley on Sunday is expected to be another scorcher, so we have taken the regrettable decision to cancel. Hopefully, normal service will be resumed shortly!!!
As the temperatures only seem to be getting higher, this walk is now cancelled – thank you for your understanding We will be walking at Highwoods on Sunday 15th July as usual from 11am but as the weather is very hot we will keep to the shaded areas of the park, walk at a nice […]
Oh yes we are loving the fine weather but as the day gets going it is far too hot for our dogs to travel and walk. Andy Taylor has been keeping a very close eye on the predicted temperatures and it is saying 24 by 11am – too hot to risk taking the dogs across […]
A Sea of Colour on our 2018 New Year’s Day Walk! Hylands Park in Chelmsford was a sea of colour on New Year’s Day 2018 as one hundred and sixty nine sighthounds in their best coats brought their owners for a walk. There were graceful greyhounds, elegant salukis, gorgeous galgos, wrapped up whippets, lively lurchers […]
Greyhound Walks always celebrate their Christmas time walks in style and this year, for the walks that went ahead, 2017 was no exception. Brandon and Rickmansworth had a great turn out of festively dressed greyhounds, sighthounds and humans who really did not mind getting into the spirit. Thank you for the great pictures posted to […]

When the Essex group, led by Rob Tiffen walked at Wat Tyler Country Park earlier this month they really impressed the rangers! We had this lovely message from them … “Really pleased with the group, we witnessed this groups enjoyment of the day, and the dogs of course, and the fact that the owners were […]
New Walk Venue for July 16th Greyhound Walk View from one of the bridges across Alton Water PLEASE NOTE – Due to the predicted visitor numbers at this year’s Woodbridge Regatta, we have decided to switch the venue for our July 16th Greyhound Walk. We will now be walking at ALTON WATER, at the […]
The 2017 Great Global Greyhound Walk is now just 2 weeks away! Started back in 2010, by Greyhound Walks founder Janet Peacock, the Great Global Greyhound Walk (formerly the Great British Greyhound Walk) is now in new hands, but it is still an event that is very dear to our hearts. In 2016 we saw more […]
An introduction to the Greyhound Walks Committee … Greyhound Walks like to keep things as straightforward and easy going as possible, however we are a registered charity and we therefore need a certain amount of structure to operate. Our walks are organised at a local level, as are the show attendances, fundraisers etc, but we […]
It’s that time of year again. The time when we start getting enquiries about whether there will be another Greyhound Walks Show. ….. We’re therefore very happy to announce that, yes, the show will go on! 2015 saw us host our 8th show and, with the weather being so much kinder to us than it […]
